Animal Welfare

Caring for our animals

The QMS Animal Welfare and Wellbeing Charter recognises the five freedoms of animal welfare and wellbeing. It is the guiding principle for all our assurance schemes which are in turn supported and approved by the Scottish SPCA – Scotland’s independent animal welfare charity.

Sustainability

Perfect Conditions

Red meat produced in Scotland is amongst the most sustainable anywhere in the world. Today, over 80% of Scottish farmland is grassland or rough grazing that is not suitable for growing crops, but which is ideal for beef and lamb production. The quality of the grazing means the land requires very few inputs to produce nutrient dense, high-quality meat.
